Ingredient Benefits:

(with a focus on gut health & the nervous system)

Banana

Bananas contain resistant starch (especially when slightly underripe) & pectin, fibres that feed beneficial gut bacteria & support regular digestion. They are also a good source of magnesium & vitamin B6, which help the body produce calming neurotransmitters like serotonin & GABA.

Buckwheat

Despite its name, buckwheat is a gluten free seed rich in fibre & resistant starch, which nourish the gut microbiome & support healthy digestion. It is also a good source of magnesium, which helps relax the nervous system & support a balanced stress response. Its slow releasing carbohydrates provide steady energy & help keep blood sugar & mood stable.

Eggs

Eggs provide choline, a nutrient needed for healthy nerve signalling & brain function, along with B vitamins that support the nervous system & energy production. They are also a source of tryptophan, a building block for serotonin & melatonin, which support calm & restful sleep. Their high quality protein & nutrients like zinc & vitamin D also help nourish the gut lining & support the body’s resilience.

Maple syrup

Maple syrup is a natural sweetener that contains manganese, zinc & a range of polyphenols with antioxidant properties. These plant compounds may help calm inflammation & may support a healthy gut environment. Its gentler impact on blood sugar compared to refined sugar can help support steady energy & a more balanced mood, though it is best enjoyed in moderation.
